3 years agoTampa Bay Rays infielder Joey Wendle went 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run, and an additional run scored during Saturday's 7-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. He belted a solo shot into the right-center field seats in the fourth inning to extend the Rays lead 4-0. The 31-year-old tripled and beat Tigers' third baseman Jeimer Candelario's throw at the plate to score his second run of the game. Wendle should see an everyday role with the Rays placing rookie phenom Wander Franco (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Saturday. The Rays infielder should be added in all league formats after slashing .279/.328/.445 with 10 home runs, 51 RBI, 65 runs scored, and seven stolen bases over 119 games in 2021.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
