Joey Wentz Will Make His MLB Debut Wednesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers left-hander Joey Wentz will make his MLB debut against the Oakland A's on Wednesday. Wentz has made five starts for Triple-A Toledo this season, posting a 4.12 ERA and an eye-popping 11.90 K/9. The 24-year-old hurler is generally regarded as a top-10 prospect in the Detroit farm system, boasting a pedestrian fastball but a plus changeup. Wentz missed all of the 2020 season following Tommy John surgery but was able to make 18 appearances in 2021, split between Single-A and Double-A. Fantasy managers will probably want to take a wait-and-see approach with the youngster when it comes to potentially utilizing him as a streaming option.
