3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Joey Wiemer has impressed in his first taste of Double-A this season. The 23-year-old worked on changing his swing within the past year and the results have shown more power in his game. For the season, Wiemer is hitting .292 with 12 doubles, nine home runs, 27 RBI and a .947 OPS in 35 games. A knock on Wiemer early in his professional career was that he lacked plate discipline and that has been his biggest issue with 49 strikeouts on the season versus 15 walks in 137 at-bats. Wiemer could rise through the system fairly quickly, but it won't happen if he can't cut down on his strikeouts. Wiemer would be an intriguing candidate in dynasty leagues down the road, but managers could hold off on him for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
