3 years agoWashington Capitals defenseman John Carlson had a very unfortunate ending to Sunday's 3-2 loss to Dallas as he appeared to have suffered an injury with just 20 seconds left in the game. He was checked by Stars captain Jamie Benn near the Capitals goal and Carlson ended up going down and hitting the boards behind the goal. The team didn't have an update on Carlson postgame. The two-time All-Star snagged a power-play assist in the game to get up to 52 points for the season, and Carlson's absence will obviously be a huge blow for Washington. The team returns to action Tuesday night against St. Louis and we should have some news regarding his status by then.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
