John Gant Blanks Cleveland for Seven Innings
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher John Gant shut out the Cleveland Indians for seven innings on Monday, allowing just one hit but walking five. He struck out four and picked up his second win of the year. His ERA went down to 3.48. Gant was taking the rotation spot of Michael Wacha (oblique). With Wacha not expected back until after the All-Star break, Gant could stake a claim to several turns in the rotation if he continues to pitch this well.
