4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher John Gant got hit hard in Sunday's start against the Cincinnati Reds. Gant lasted four innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two. He allowed two home runs, both to apparent future hall of famer Jesse Winker. Gant has been excellent all season, but underlying stats pointed toward regression. The Cardinals almost came back to win this one, but ultimately lost 8-7. Gant ended up with a no-decision, but his ERA ballooned up to 2.63.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
