6 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher John Hicks finished hitless across five at-bats with five strikeouts in Sunday's 6-4 road loss against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday afternoon. He is the first Tigers player with a five-strikeout game since Prince Fielder on April 17, 2013, and he is the first player to go 0-for-5 with five strikeouts since Craig Monroe did it on June 14, 2013. Hicks is slashing .188/.235/.375 and he was batting fifth in manager Ron Gardenhire's lineup, which tells you a little bit about how poorly the Detroit offense has been performing this season. Avoid Hicks in all but the deepest of AL-only fantasy leagues.--Daniel Dobish
