7 years agoThe Detroit Tigers placed catcher/first baseman John Hicks (groin) on the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday with a right groin strain. The move is retroactive to Aug. 7. Reliever Daniel Stumpf was also optioned to Triple-A Toledo, while catcher Grayson Greiner and pitcher Artie Lewicki were recalled from Toledo. Since the beginning of July, Hicks has struggled to a .202/.272/.298 line with two home runs and six RBI in 24 games. Jim Adduci should see more time at first base with Hicks on the shelf.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
