4 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher John Means tossed a no-hitter in Wednesday's victory over the Mariners. Means was dominant in doing so, striking out 12 batters with no walks over nine innings, throwing 79 of 113 pitches for strikes. The southpaw was missing bats all afternoon, as he generated a whopping 26 swinging strikes, 22 of them on his fastball-changeup combo. It was the first no-hitter by an Orioles' pitcher since 1969- and Means would have had a perfect game if not for a wild pitch on a strikeout. The 28-year-old now owns a 4-0 record with a 1.37 ERA and a 50:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Means has been an absolute ADP steal, considering he was being selected outside the top-200 picks.--Tim Capurso
