7 years agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross, who was a bust in his rookie season, is eyeing a turnaround in his sophomore campaign and is working with former wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh this offseason. The thought is that the speedster Ross can become unstoppable if he improves his technique in his route running. “He’s been fast his whole life. Whoever worked with him has never really gone over the basics and the nuances of route running. You can’t always run by you. You get to this level, everybody can run. Your technique and ability to separate has to come to the forefront because you can’t beat everybody with speed. That’s what I’m trying to get him to understand. He’s got speed no one else has," Houshmandzadeh said. Ross, who owns the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, had zero catches in his rookie season and played in just three games due to injuries. Head coach Marvin Lewis insisted that Ross wasn't in the dog house last year, but the 23-year-old must show he's healthy to get more of a shot in 2018. He should make much more of an impact and is certainly worth a late-round flier in all fantasy formats for his upside.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
