6 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (elbow) will return to the mound on Thursday versus the Cardinals. Cueto has been on the disabled list since May 1 with a sprained right elbow. Cueto was pitching lights out before his injury and owns a 0.84 ERA in 32 innings. Cueto also performed well in his two rehab starts and allowed no earned runs. It’s always tough to trust a pitcher in their first start coming back from a major injury, but with the way Cueto has performed this season and during his rehab starts, it is worth trusting him on Thursday.
