5 years agoCalgary Flames forwards Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan both started their seasons with a power-play goal and an assist in Thursday's 5-3 loss to Colorado. Last year's Norris Trophy winner Mark Giordano also had a goal in the season opener. Gaudreau and Monahan have formed one of the deadliest duos in the league over the last few seasons, combining on over 130 goals since the start of 2016-17. Both had over 30 goals last season, and it looks like more of the same is expected in 2019-20. Elias Lindholm should pick up plenty of assists playing alongside the two.
