3 years agoMiami Marlins utility player Jon Berti (concussion) was forced to leave Thursday's game against the San Diego Padres after being hit by a pitch in the back of the head. Berti was officially diagnosed with a laceration on the back of his head and a concussion. He required three stitches and will almost certainly be placed on the seven-day injured list before Friday's game. Berti has been starting all over the field and playing solid defense but is struggling at the plate. He'll return to a .210 batting average and a .624 OPS when he's ready.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
