3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Jon Duplantier was released by the team on Tuesday, according to Zach Buchanan of The Athletic. At one point the top pitching prospect in Arizona's system, Duplantier has been plagued by injuries over the past few years, and over 21 combined innings this season between the majors and minors, he has allowed 26 earned runs on 30 hits and 13 walks with 17 strikeouts. One can hope that if he latches on with another organization that he can find success and show the promise he once had, but at this point if he was still being rostered in dynasty formats he can be dropped to the waiver wire.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
