Jon Gray Dealing With An MCL Strain
3 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Jon Gray (knee) is dealing with a low-grade MCL strain in his left knee and is expected to be placed on the injured list. According to Rangers general manager Chris Young, the injury is not likely to cost him a lot of time, hopefully, one start. The 30-year-old missed time due to a finger issue and recently returned from the injured list Tuesday. Glenn Otto will start Friday's series opener against the Oakland Athletics, followed by Martin Perez and Spencer Howard. This season, the right-hander is off to a slow start, posting a 0-1 record with a 7.00 ERA, 1,00 WHIP, and eight strikeouts over nine innings in 2022. Gray is day-to-day and will miss at least one turn in the rotation.
