3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray took a no-decision on Friday when he allowed seven runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts over four innings in a 9-7 win over the D-Backs. What an odd outing for Gray, who shut out the Diamondbacks over his first two innings before completely imploding in the third. He surrendered all seven of his runs in the frame, which included a three-run homer to his Arizona counterpart, Humberto Castellanos, a solo shot to Ketel Marte, and a two-run bomb to Christian Walker. He did manage to punch out seven but this is not how the hard-throwing right-hander wanted to end his season. The 29-year-old got off to a solid start this season but then faded--mostly due to injury--down the stretch. He finishes with a 4.59 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 157:58 K/BB ratio over 149 innings (29 starts).--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
