4 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray will be the third starter in the team's rotation to begin the season. Fellow starters Germán Márquez and Antonio Senzatela will get the first crack at the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Rockies opening series and will then be followed by Gray and Austin Gomber. The hard-throwing Gray has had a rough Cactus League for the Rockies, putting up a 9.90 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, and 10:3 K/BB ratio over 10 innings this spring. He's aiming to bounce back from a horrible 2020 season as well when he registered a 6.69 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over eight starts (39 innings). The 29-year-old has shown some flashes over his career, particularly when it comes to strikeouts, but his floor is extremely low pitching in the high altitude of Coors Field. He's nothing more than an occasional streamer.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
