Jon Gray Out 4-6 Weeks With Oblique Strain
2 years agoTexas Rangers pitcher Jon Gray (oblique) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a strained left oblique Tuesday and is expected to be out four to six weeks. He initially suffered the injury during Monday's start against the Baltimore Orioles. The 30-year-old owns a 3.83 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 116:34 K:BB across 103 innings in 2022. He is expected to miss the rest of August, and with the Rangers record under .500 (46-56), Texas could shut the right-hander down for the year if they are eliminated from a playoff spot in September. Fantasy managers with an open IL spot should stash Gray, as he could return a few weeks before the end of the season.
