Jon Gray Takes Seventh Loss Of The Season
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray took the loss on Wednesday when he allowed three runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts in a 3-2 loss to the Cubs. The Rockies' offense spotted Gray a pair of runs in the opening frame and he carried that lead all the way until the fifth inning. He was in line for the win until he loaded the bases and served up a bases-clearing double to Patrick Wisdom. Neither team would score after that so Gray was saddled with the loss. The 29-year-old hurler now owns a 3.67 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 101:44 K/BB ratio over 110 1/3 innings (20 starts). He's got a tough matchup on the road against the Astros in his next turn.
