3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray took a no-decision on Wednesday when he allowed three runs on six hits with one walk and eight strikeouts over five innings in a 7-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Facing the Giants is no easy task these days but Gray was throwing a shutout through the first five innings on Wednesday. The Rockies held a 3-0 lead heading into the sixth frame before he started to fall apart. He surrendered back-to-back singles before Brandon Crawford took him deep for a game-tying, three-run homer. He exited after that and was handed a no-decision for his efforts. Gray has battled injuries over the last month and has only made six starts since August 4. He's only notched one quality start over that span as well but Wednesday was a step in the right direction. He now owns a 4.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 133:54 K/BB ratio over 131 1/3 innings (25 starts). He'll face the Braves on the road in his next turn.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
