Jon Gray Whiffs Seven In Victory Over Atlanta
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray earned the win on Tuesday when he allowed two runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts over five innings in a 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. Gray was in control for the most part in this one, allowing just a Freddie Freeman RBI single in the first and a Dansby Swanson RBI double in the fourth inning. He also managed to punch out seven batters but this was just his first win since July 30. He also hasn't recorded a quality start in six straight turns. Gray now owns an 8.10 record, 4.16 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 140:56 K/BB ratio over 136 1/3 innings (26 starts). He'll look to pick up another win in his next start against the Nationals on the road.
