Jonah Williams Has Fifth-Year Option Exercised
3 years agoThe Cincinnati Bengals picked up offensive tackle Jonah Williams' fifth-year option on Friday, according to a source. Williams was the 11th overall pick of the 2019 draft out of Alabama, but he was looking like a potential bust when he played in just 10 total games in his first two seasons due to injuries. However, he bounced back last year and started 16 games while playing very well. The left tackle still has plenty of work to do to justify his draft price in the long run, but he improved as a run-blocker in 2021. Williams will get two more years to prove he's the long-term answer on quarterback Joe Burrow's blind side. His fifth-year option is worth roughly $12 million.
