Jonathan Holder Optioned To Triple-A
6 years agoThe New York Yankees optioned relief pitcher Jonathan Holder to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after his implosion on Monday night against the Toronto Blue Jays. He coughed up five earned runs and five hits, including a grand slam to Freddy Galvis and a solo shot to Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and he was unable to retire a single batter. His ERA ballooned from 5.55 to 6.81 as a result. He was tagged for 13 earned runs with six homers allowed over his past 5 1/3 innings over his past six appearances. That's simply not going to cut the mustard. Stephen Tarpley might be summoned to replace him.
