Jonathan Schoop Homers Twice in Win Over White Sox
5 years agoMinnesota Twins second baseman Jonathan Schoop went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in an 8-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Schoop launched a second-inning homer off Chicago starter Ross Detwiler and followed that up with an eighth-inning blast off reliever Jace Fry. The big night gives Schoop a .257 average, .793 OPS, 21 homers, 56 runs, and 53 RBI on the year. Schoop has seen his playing time reduced thanks to the hot hitting of Luis Arraez of late but he does have five homers in his past seven games played. There's a chance the Twins try to find a way to get Schoop back in the lineup on a more regular basis thanks to his recent hot streak. He is worth an add in leagues where he was dropped.
