Jonathan Taylor Impressing As Best Player At Training Camp
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has reportedly impressed head coach Frank Reich and other team reporters in attendance enough to earn the title of best offensive player through the first couple of weeks of training camp. Reich stated, "That guy looks so good right now … I can't even tell you." Running behind one of the league's best offensive line units certainly benefits Taylor, whom the Colts drafted with the 41st overall pick in 2020. He was restricted in several games during his rookie season, ceding touches to Nyheim Hines, which could be why Taylor's ADP had dropped from 9.2 to 11.7 across the past week. Taylor had the third-highest rushing total (1,169 yards) in 2020 and scored 12 touchdowns, including one through the air. He's a bonafide RB1 and should be drafted in the first round due to the heavy volume he's guaranteed, including valuable goal-line carries behind a bruising offensive line. The return of Marlon Mack should not scare fantasy managers away from Taylor, but if other league mates are skeptical, take advantage and draft a running back that should replicate a 1,000-yard, double-digit-touchdown season in his second year.
