Jonathan Villar Hits Solo Shot
3 years agoNew York Mets utility man Jonathan Villar hit a home run in the ninth inning of Friday night's game which brought the team within two runs of the Philadelphia Phillies in an eventual 4-2 loss. Villar went 1-for-4 for the game. The home run was his 11th of the season, and came off newly acquired closer Ian Kennedy. Villar has managed to have consistent playing time all season filling in for injured teammates, and he's accrued 8 steals, 38 runs, and 25 RBI in 270 at-bats. He figures to continue to find ways to help a fantasy team, though he will be a bit of a drag in the batting average and on-base categories.
