Jonathan Villar Proving Why He Should Start With Three-Hit Game
7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers infielder Jonathan Villar went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, three runs and a stolen base in the 7-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. While Villar's starts have been limited since the start of May with only five in 10 games, he's been quite great contact-wise. This game brings him up to a .320 batting average in May and a .393 on-base percentage, as he's been walking more this year. On the year, he now holds a .282 batting average with two home runs, six runs, 10 RBI and seven stolen bases. While his season OPS remains quite low at .695, his job is to get on base and swipe bags. When Villar goes back to consistent starts at second base, he should be owned in all formats.
