3 years agoNew York Mets infielder Jonathan Villar (calf) is expected to report to Triple-A Syracuse for a rehab assignment sometime this week. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a strained right calf. The 30-year-old is slashing .246/.333/.410 with six home runs, 15 RBI, 29 runs scored, and eight stolen bases across 61 games in 2021. Mets' third baseman JD Davis is also scheduled for a rehab assignment this week, which could hinder Villar's playing time once both players are activated from the injured list.
