2 years agoNew England Patriots tight end Jonnu Smith was quiet in the team's preseason finale on Friday night against the Las Vegas Raiders. Smith caught his only target for a five-yard gain. The 27-year-old and Hunter Henry played 16 offensive snaps each in the 23-6 loss. He was a big disappointment in his first year in New England in 2021 while sharing time with Henry, as he caught only 28 of his 45 targets for 294 yards and one touchdown in 16 games (11 starts). Smith appears more comfortable in the offense in his second season, and the Patriots reportedly are making more of a point to get him the ball. However, with Henry being a better red-zone weapon for quarterback Mac Jones, it will be hard to get behind Smith in fantasy football as a TE2.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
