Jonnu Smith To Be Full Participant In Voluntary Program
3 years agoNew England Patriots tight end Jonnu Smith plans to spend the offseason in New England as a full participant in the voluntary offseason program, according to a source. Smith didn't do so last year while awaiting the birth of his daughter, but he's looking to bounce back in 2022 after posting a disappointing 28 catches on 45 targets for 294 yards and one touchdown in 16 games (11 starts) in his first year with the Patriots in 2021. The 26-year-old was mostly used as a blocker and was overshadowed by Hunter Henry, who was a big red-zone weapon for rookie quarterback Mac Jones. Unless Henry misses time with an injury next season, Smith shouldn't be a weekly fantasy consideration at his position.
