4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks (elbow) exited Saturday's game with inflammation and soreness in his elbow, according to Ryan Herrera of MLB.com. Hicks allowed one run on one hit in 2/3 innings before exiting with what was originally announced as right forearm tightness. Manager Mike Shildt said after the game that what Hicks is experiencing now is not uncommon in pitchers coming off Tommy John surgery, and the early exit for Hicks was done more out of caution than concern. It sounds like Hicks is probably fine, although it may be a few extra days before he pitches again. Through 10 appearances this year, Hicks has a 5.40 ERA with 10 strikeouts and 10 walks in 10 innings of work.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
