4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with inflammation in his right elbow, according to MLB.com's Zachary Silver. Hicks exited Saturday's game with what was announced to be soreness and inflammation in his elbow after pitching 2/3 innings against the Pirates. General manager John Mozeliak said that the team is going to get a second opinion, but for now they are continuing to call it inflammation. Currently surgery is not being considered an option, and the team does not believe the injury is directly related to his Tommy John surgery. A possibility that's being considered is Hicks receiving a PRP or stem cell injection, which Silver reports would keep Hicks out of action for four weeks at least.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
