Jordan Lawlar Goes Yard In Double-A
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run for Double-A Amarillo on Sunday. It's his second homer for Amarillo since his promotion on August 23. The 20-year-old has struggled in his brief time with Amarillo with a weak .191 batting average, but the sample size is way too small for managers to have any fear. Between Rookie Ball, High-A, Single-A and Double-A this season, Lawlar has hit .311 with 14 homers, 55 RBI and 37 stolen bases in 351 at-bats. The Diamondbacks future has begun to look very bright and Lawlar should play a big role in that. The Diamondbacks have shown that they will be aggressive in promoting their youngsters and Lawlar has played so well in his young career that he may get a chance in the big leagues next summer, but his most likely timeline is 2024. With his ability to help across the board at the shortstop position, Lawlar should be rostered in all dynasty leagues.
