4 years agoTexas Rangers starter Jordan Lyles started a game for the fifth time this season, and all he could do was throw 2 2/3 innings of awful baseball against the Los Angeles Angels before getting off the mound. Lyles got rocked for 10 hits in 77 pitches thrown, and he also walked three batters for a ridiculous 4.88 WHIP on Monday. Lyles has gone downhill after winning his first start of the season at Kansas City all the way back on April 4 (two runs in 5 2/3 innings), getting two no-decisions and now two consecutive losses in his other four games. Lyles has allowed at least five hits and three runs in each of his last four starts, but none had been as bad as this last game. Making matters worse, two of those 10 hits allowed went past the fences, and Lyles could only get two strikeouts against the 21 batters he faced.--Antonio Losada - RotoBaller
