Jordan Lyles Is Tagged For Six Earned Runs
4 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jordan Lyles gave up seven runs, six earned, on Monday night in a 14-4 loss to the San Diego Padres. In four innings of work, Lyles allowed seven hits and one walk while only striking out two batters. The right-hander saw his ERA rise to 7.52, and you have to wonder if his spot in the rotation is in jeopardy. He hasn't made it through the sixth inning in any of his four starts, and it's doubtful that this is the type of pitcher the Rangers were hoping for when they signed him this offseason. His resurgence in Milwaukee last year is looking like more of an outlier with every start. Lyles should not be rostered in any league regardless of size or format. There must be a better option on the waiver wire.
