Jordan Lyles Plagued By The Long Ball
4 years agoOn Wednesday night, Texas Rangers starting pitcher Jordan Lyles was not sharp in five innings of work. Lyles pitched five innings and gave up six hits, four walks, four earned runs, and two home runs with four strikeouts. On the box score, it looks like all of the damage was done to Lyles in the second inning with two home runs, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Lyles had baserunners on in every inning and allowed the leadoff batter to reach base in three of his five innings. In his three starts this year, Lyles has allowed 15 hits and 11 walks in 14 1/3 innings. Leave him on the waiver wire unless you are only looking for innings pitched in a deep AL-only league.
