Jordan Lyles Scratched With Stomach Bug
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jordan Lyles was scratched from his spring outing on Friday due to a stomach bug that is going around the clubhouse, according to manager Brandon Hyde. The Orioles are hoping Lyles can get into a game within the next couple of days. Chris Ellis will get the nod in the Grapefruit League game on Friday instead. The 31-year-old right-hander was pretty bad in his last two seasons with the Texas Rangers, and he had a 5.15 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while striking out 146 and walking 56 in 180 innings over 32 outings (30 starts) in 2021. Given Baltimore's lack of starting options, Lyles will be guaranteed a rotation spot this year, but fantasy managers in mixed leagues can do much better.
