Jordan Lyles To Disabled List, Robert Stock Called Up
7 years agoA day after being a late scratch from his start Saturday, San Diego Padres starter Jordan Lyles (forearm) was placed on the disabled list. Lyles was encouraged by initial tests and hopes it's just inflammation. It's unclear how long the eight-year veteran will be sidelined but with his 4.46 ERA and 1.28 WHIP, Lyles was a marginal fantasy prospect. In a corresponding move, the Padres called up reliever Robert Stock from Triple-A El Paso. Stock is a 28-year-old journeyman who finally cracked the highest level of minor league ball in 2018. He performed well in Spring Training and was riding a 1.95 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 10.9 K/9 in 32 1/3 innings between Double and Triple-A this season. Stock's major league debut will probably come in a middle-relief role, giving him minimal fantasy value.
