Jordan Mason A Potential Stash
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Jordan Mason could have an expanded role in the 49ers upcoming home game against the Seattle Seahawks. With starting RB Elijah Mitchell (knee) set to miss the next eight or so games with a sprained MCL, other Niners backs will have to step up. Jeff Wilson Jr. is the starter going into Week 2, but he wasn't impressive in Week 1 and wasn't impressive when he has started four games last season. Mason was on the field for no offensive snaps in Week 1, but he should get some opportunities in Week 2. If he can outplay Wilson, who has averaged less than 3.0 yards per carry in four of his past seven games, then the starting job could become his. Don't start Mason this week, but consider him as a potential stash.
