3 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery was reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list Tuesday and threw 78 pitches in his return. He allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six across 4 2/3 innings during Game 1 of Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Boston Red Sox. The southpaw did not factor into the decision. Montgomery surrendered a go-ahead home run to Christian Vazquez during the fifth inning and got the quick hook shortly after. The 28-year-old has allowed three earned runs or less in nine consecutive starts. Montgomery owns a (4-5) record along with a 3.77 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 121 strikeouts across 119 1/3 innings in 2021. Fantasy managers can use him as a streamer in a favorable home matchup against the Twins on Sunday.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
