4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery pitched poorly against the Orioles on Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over two innings of work. Montgomery and manager Aaron Boone both stressed that the pitcher is working to improve his fastball command during spring training, a focus that could help Montgomery improve upon his already strong career 7.4% walk rate. A fairly popular sleeper candidate thanks to his deep arsenal and whiff-inducing curveball (17.1% swinging-strike rate in 2020) and changeup (23.5% swinging-strike rate in 2020), fantasy managers should continue to monitor Montgomery's spring training and consider drafting him at his 224 ADP.--Sam Chinitz
