3 years agoUpdating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that closer Jordan Romano is day-to-day with a non-COVID-19 illness. Romano was unavailable to pitch in Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners, but he was seen in the bullpen and is not contagious. All of those fantasy managers that were bracing for the worst with the elite closer can now take a breath, as the 29-year-old right-hander could be available to close out games again as soon as Tuesday. Romano currently leads the league with 12 saves and has allowed only five earned runs on 13 hits while walking five and striking out 17 in 14 2/3 innings pitched as Toronto's ninth-inning guy. With Romano unavailable on Monday, Adam Cimber recorded his second save of the year in the 6-2 win over Seattle.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
