Jordan Romano Earns Second Consecutive Save
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano earned his second save of the season in as many games, throwing a clean ninth inning to secure the 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers. He now has two strikeouts and no walks while allowing no hits over two innings thus far. Romano came into this year as a virtual lock to be the club's closer after emerging as the ninth-inning guy later last season. In 2021 the right-hander pitched to a 2.14 ERA, 33.6 K%, and 1.05 WHIP in 62 games, adding 23 saves as well. It looks like fantasy managers who drafted Romano won't have to worry about a closer committee in Toronto and should expect another strong year from the native of Ontario.
