4 years agoThere may be a changing of the guard regarding the Toronto Blue Jays closing job moving forward after seeing how manager Charlie Montoyo utilized his bullpen on Monday. With the team up 5-1, Rafael Dolis threw the seventh inning, and interim closer Anthony Bass worked the eighth inning against the bottom of the lineup. The Jays expanded the lead in the top half of the ninth to 7-1 when Jordan Romano was warming up to presumably work the ninth. Romano took a seat after the insurance runs were added, but it's safe to say Romano is the top candidate for the ninth-inning job moving forward. It's not that surprising since he's been the best arm in the bullpen with 13 strikeouts and a 0.90 ERA through 10 frames, making him worth rostering for those stats alone.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
