4 years agoToronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano will be placed on the injured list likely prior to Saturday’s contest against Baltimore due to numbness in the middle finger of his pitching hand. Romano has been a breakout sensation in 2020, having taken over closer duties in his first extended look at getting key outs in the Majors. With 21 strikeouts in his first 14 ⅔ frames, Romano has been a near must-roster entity as of late. His absence creates an opportunity at the back end of the Toronto bullpen with Ken Giles (forearm) still out of the mix as well.--Jesse Borek
