4 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano closed out Saturday night's 4-0 win over the Phillies, unfortunately he was not credited with a save. Warming up in the pen with a 3-0 lead in the eighth, the Jays tacked on a late run in the bottom half of the inning, so Romano entered the ninth in a non-save situation. He struck out two in the frame, working around a walk and a single before getting Jean Segura to groundout to end the game. The right-hander has been sharp of late with just one earned run over his last eight innings and 10 strikeouts in that span. He's the clear choice for manager Charlie Montoyo for save chances, but they have yet to pitch him in back-to-back nights since he returned from the IL in mid-April. This could open the door for Tyler Chatwood to vulture a save opportunity, but Romano is still the arm to own in this bullpen.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
