6 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals reassigned pitcher/outfielder Jordan Schafer to minor league camp. He was one of seven players to be reassigned to minor league camp by the Cardinals this weekend, but the only one that may have been an interesting piece this season. Schafer played in the big leagues from 2009-2015 as an outfielder but is trying to make a comeback as a relief pitcher/outfielder hybrid. It would make sense if he could get outs, but he struggled quite a bit this spring. He'll continue working in the minor leagues and could get a call-up if he sorts things out. He'd be a useful 25th guy on the roster due to his versatility.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
