5 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Jordan Yamamoto gave up three runs, two earned, in five innings Tuesday vs the Padres. Yamamoto walked two and struck out four while lowering his ERA to a pristine 1.59. The Marlins seem to have more young pitchers than rotation spots but as long as Yamamoto keeps this up he should keep starting. Yamamoto has given up two earned runs or fewer in each of his six starts while striking out 34 batters in 34 innings. He won't win many games with the Marlins offense backing him, but he averaged almost a strikeout per inning in the minors and has a 2.80 FIP so far in the Majors. He should be owned in 12-team mixed leagues and started when he has a good matchup, the bench may be the best spot for him next time out vs the Dodgers on Sunday however.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
