7 years agoDetroit Tigers veteran righty Jordan Zimmermann has had his share of troubles since signing with the Tigers a couple seasons ago. He finished the 2017 season with a 6.08 ERA and an 8-13 record across 160 innings of work, his second consecutive season with an ERA above 4.00. He is far from the pitcher the Tigers hoped they were getting when they signed Zimmermann before the 2016 season when he was coming off five straight solid seasons with the Nationals. Considering all that, it was a promising sign when Zim turned in two scoreless frames Saturday against the Blue Jays. It remains to be seen if he can bounce back in any way, but given his track record before signing with Detroit, Zimmermann's progress is worth monitoring.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
