Jordy Mercer Goes On Injured List, Christin Stewart Reinstated

5 years agoDetroit Tigers shortstop Jordy Mercer (quadriceps) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right quadriceps strain, retroactive to May 8. In a corresponding move, the team has recalled outfielder Christin Stewart (quadriceps). It was reported earlier Thursday morning that Stewart would come back Friday, but the injury to Mercer has him back sooner than expected. Mercer has been solid defensively but hasn't contributed at the plate. Stewart has plenty of power, but not much else. Neither player is recommended in most formats. Ronny Rodriguez, who has been hitting well so far, will see more run at the 6 with Mercer out.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
